Hello 🙂 Update time!
Apologies for the lack of posts over the past few months, for whatever reason I found I just didn’t have all that much to say. Perhaps because I’m not usually up to much in the garden during winter.
I hope to get back into the swing of things now. If you saw my last post you know I was also delayed by illness. I caught whatever it was that was going around, and while I don’t think I had it as bad as some, it was enough that I didn’t feel like doing much!
Anyway, we have a lot of really hard frosts lately, and while it’s now warming up, it was a good test of our heated bird bath! We kept it on whenever the forecast said it would be frosty and it managed to prevent any ice forming 😀 This meant less work for me – I only had to de-ice the other bird baths, but at least I knew there’d be some water for the birds even if I didn’t go out early. We discovered though that all our birds going to one bird bath meant it emptied a lot quicker!!
Tiger, our little fuzzball, is doing fine on her diet. We did have to change from dried food to pouches as she went off the dry stuff – she just stopped eating! Little spoilt fur face! I love her to bits, but she doesn’t half like hitting my wallet!
It’s big garden birdwatch weekend! I will be counting, I just hope the birds turn up. I’ll post my results, all previous watches are under the tag BGBW.
The’For the love of campaign’ is also in February fortheloveof.org.uk #showthelove to save the places you love, and raise awareness of climate change.
I am planning to get back to work in the garden this weekend and will hopefully have more to share soon. I did take some frosty photos, so I’ll edit them up sometime.
