There’s a most definite change in the air now, there’s a slight nip to it. I quite like it myself, but I will miss being able to go out in just a tee.
The trees are really changing colour now, and my birches are raining leaves. It’ll look rather bare soon, but for now there’s some lovely dashes of brightness.
Above is my tickseed, it’s flowering now and looking nice and sharp. My pyracantha has produced some lovely orange berries this year, more than last year I think…
My hebe champagne looks nice in the sun, and the bees are enjoying it.
The Michaelmas daisies are going strong, and again the bees are making use of them.
The leaves on my spindle are going a lovely bold red.
My guelder roses are turning too, but they’re more subtle!
We still haven’t done all our pruning and mulching, so we better get a move on. I have more sowing to do as well! It’s all going so fast, but I am already thinking about Christmas, so at least (hopefully) that won’t sneak up on me!
