It’s been really lovely the past few days. We’ve had really warm weather, the garden has seemed to grow daily, and sitting at the bottom of the garden, in the meadow, listening to bird song is my personal place of serenity.
I’m always amazed how fast everything can grow. I don’t have a decent comparison shot, but if you look at the border in this one, and look above again, you can see the difference less than a month has made.
I really enjoy this time of year, seeing what will come up; the garden is different every year.
My mahonia are busy right now, growing new leaves at the top, and new off shoots below.
My red campion has started blooming, the raspberries have grown leave SO fast! My lupin is getting huge again, and the current is starting to flower too. 🙂
The birds are also busy. We’ve seen our first blackbird fledgeling. This one was with Mr Blackbird, who has been running around the garden gathering food.
And if you’ve been following my progress, I finally finished painting the patio cover!! The hit and miss panels take ages, but it’s finally done. I did some evening painting as it was so hot. The paint was getting a skin in the pot!
We had a bit of rain today, and there’s more forecast for tomorrow – I say good, my garden really could use the drink. Sadly it may mean no gardening gets done.
