I’ve been working in the garden the last couple of days, the weather has been so nice! 😀
Remember that small strip of flower bed I made recently? This one:
Well, it’s evolved:
We’ve also mown, tied in the growing raspberries a bit more, and watered in some eco-worm fertiliser. And we (mostly Dad) did this:
With our new patio roof arrangement this strip of lawn doesn’t get much sun and around the pillars it’s mostly moss now. So, the turf is coming off and being put in a turf pile to rot down over the next couple of years, and we’re going a bit deeper and edging it to put in some ballast and top it off with cobbles, or pebbles.. of some yet to be determined kind. It’ll be a graduation in surfaces.. patio, to cobbles, to lawn.
You may also notice a lump of concrete being destroyed. That came out when we got rid of our rotary washing line, and we’re only just breaking it apart to get rid of it!
Tigs popped out for a bit, and I’ve also plopped in a few tulips -Merry widow, which are looking pretty 🙂 Oooh and I saw my first Brimstone butterfly of the year today, and we saw blue tits taking nesting material into our sparrow terrace! As far as I know, blue tits don’t nest communally like sparrows, so I guess two of the three spaces will remain empty… :S
