I’ve been out in the garden as much as possible over the last few weeks and things are progressing.
I’ve done more painting on my patio cover project – the end is almost in sight! Lucky I rather like painting 😀
And I’ve made some progress against my Garden plans 2016
I have some herb seed that came with a ladybird box that I need to find space to use. I’m hoping to get a nice planter to grow them in.
I’ve brought a lovely planter! I haven’t got a photo yet, but I’ll show you sometime. I just need to get some soil in it and get sowing. I’ve already waterproofed the inside (except for drainage holes) and put some landscape fabric in the bottom.
Again, I don’t know if the expense would be sensible right now, but I’d love to have running water in the garden.
I saw a water feature on sale and went for it! I looks pretty nice actually – post on that coming soon.
For a long time I’ve been planning to get a climber to grow up our patio roof construction. I’ve been waiting to get one because I need to finish painting first.
Well the post the climber will go on is painted, we just need to add the bit of trelis I have (hopefully tomorrow) and I can put in the planter I bought today!
I’ve been seeing lots of bumblebees out, I’ve seen peacock and tortoiseshell butterflies, and so many birds! Sparrow, coal tit, and siskin are taking nesting material (and stealing garden twine). The soundtrack to my garden work is fantastic 😀
I need to add a job to my list though – the stump our bird bath is on, and that doubles up as dead wood for the insects, is really showing how much it’s decaying now. So I may have to start looking for a replacement stump soon, and put this one on a deadwood pile. I think our woodpecker likes it too.
One of the bees I’ve seen 🙂
Our heathers are looking good!
Oh and my snake head fritillary are in flower now! Love them.
Hope you are enjoying the nicer weather too.
