My robin is still a regular visitor in the garden, and is often the first to appear when the food goes out.
I’ve not seen blackbirds as much this year, or it feels like I haven’t. But I have seen about about recently.
This tit has discovered the stump as a food source. I sometimes see a nuthatch or a woodpecker on it, but I’ve started to see tits use it too. I’ve deliberately left it to decay naturally – it’s a home for insects and therefore a larder for birds!
Robin likes to sit in the back of the arbour seat at the bottom of the garden. It makes him/her hard to spot except for the flash of red.
Blue tits are really making the most of the feeders at the moment, especially the sunflower hearts. I managed to capture this one on it’s way to the feeders.
I saw the nuthatch earlier, it was having sunflower hearts too! Plus, I’ve spotted a gold crest in the garden again, and had the pleasure of seeing two of them chirping in a bush very close to us volunteering this morning 😀
