Earlier this year I got a squirrel proof nut feeder because my squirrels were eating all the nuts. Now I’ve just brought the matching (standard, not mini) seed feeder.
I’ve recently started feeding the birds sunflower hearts. In theory the more types of food you can provide, the more bird species you’ll attract. I already provide a seed mix, nuts, meal worms, nyjer seed, and suet treats. I got the new feeder to hold the sunflower hearts.
This time I got the feeder via Amazon; I had set a price watch and got it during a dip. I usually try and be loyal to my favoured and trusted sites, but I’m being frugal at this time of year. It’s made by Brome, just like the nut feeder.
I love it already, and it looks good. Like the other feeder; it’s solid and well made, it can come apart go in the dishwasher, and it has the same 2 year warranty. I also really like the perches; they enable birds to perch either sideways or face on to the feeder, this means more birds are comfortable feeding from it. It also has mesh for birds that like to cling.
This birds took to it straight away, no problems! Even our Robin can feed from this feeder; it’s tried with the others and never really managed it, but it can happily munch from this one 😀
Both feeders came with an informative leaflet with instructions on cleaning, and how to set the selective feeding weight adjustment that keeps the squirrels off.
I’m really pleased with them.
