In my post A hawk moth in our garden last month, I explained how a Hummingbird hawk moth visited our garden, presumably for the first time, and my dad got some pictures. Well, it came back!
This time I saw it, and not only that, but I got some photos with my DSLR too 😀 They’re not amazing (the focus isn’t great), but thanks to the better camera, and resolution, you can see more detail in these.
I picked just the best few to show you. My photo at the top I quite like, and this one isn’t too bad – shame you can’t see it’s face very well. The wing blur is kind of artsy!
I’ve included this one just to show more wing blur – it sure lives up to the ‘hummingbird’ part of it’s name.
And I think this one is my favourite of the ones I took. You can see it’s face 😀
It’s definitely not the easiest creature to photograph, it’s very zippy!
Have you ever seen one of these beauties?
