I was looking back over some of my old photos on Flickr and I got some of the early ones I took of the garden, before my project to turn it into a wildlife garden. It’s amazing how much it’s changed in a few years.
The right side border has transformed. This was taken in 2012 when we were putting in sleepers to edge the border. This was just before we got started on making everything wildlife friendly.
And this is now…
Lots more plants, and they’re wildlife friendly 🙂
Overall we’ve gone from this…
No more bare emptiness! We’ve got a hedge coming along, a meadow, a wild patch, raspberries and blackberries, a fuller border, an oval flower bed, and a new tree growing in. And I have plans to add a bit more to it as well! Plus we have a frogitat, bee and bird boxes; with plans for more bird boxes, maybe bat boxes, and a mouse house.
Looking back sometimes helps me see what I’ve achieved and gives me motivation to keep going!
Do you like looking back? What are you working on in your garden?
