Following on from my first post about the Natural History Museum’s Sensational Butterflies exhibit, here are some more images from my visit, including some of chrysalis’.
There was a whole display of many different species chrysalis’ and those who are lucky enough to visit at the right time might see a butterfly emerge!
Here’s a recently emerged butterfly drying off.
Check out these spiked pupa! I like the look of them. Sorry about the slightly sinister reflection – it’s David Tennant as The Doctor on my tee.
These are interesting looking… (that’s my tee again)
Looks like a wing can be seen in one of these chrysalis’
I like the brightness of these ones. And check out the butterfly – it’s wings are still unfurling!
This isn’t the best picture but check out that tongue (proboscis)!
Lastly, here’s a few more of the adult butterflies.
