Quick post inspired by the RSPB’s Homes for Wildlife competition and campaign.
I love this campaign, it’s inspiring and accessible to everyone. This is exactly what I hope say with my blogs. I started creating homes for wildlife a bit before the campaign started, we had designs on creating the meadow etc and started work last year. I blog about it to show that anyone CAN do it! I have no past experience with creating meadows or planting for wildlife but I have made progress and am seeing the results 😀
If I can do it, so can you. If you don’t know where to start all the information you need is on the RSPB’s website http://homes.rspb.org.uk/
If you have already made a home for a bird, frog, bee or another creature, then take a photo and enter the competition to win some goodies.
It was this competition that got me editing a few more images…. Here’s some of the things we have done for our garden wildlife:
Sneaky peek at the meadow! I will update with its progress through time as I get through my back catalogue of images to edit. We sowed this year and since this grew, and we planted the border up, we have seem more bees and butterflies than ever. Well worth the effort.
Regular readers will know we also have bird boxes up and keep the birds well fed.
As always, if you are creating home for wildlife I’d love to see your photos 🙂
If you’re wondering; I’m not affiliated with the RSPB except that I am a member (I donate monthly) and I sometimes volunteer. To work for them would be wonderful, but I don’t right now! I just love what they do and I want to save the world, one bee at a time.
