This post is photo heavy, sorry! I apparently had a good time watching and photographing Starling behaviour at the end of May.

Except in winter, we don’t usually get that many Starlings in our garden. We use to, but I guess their decline has affected our area. But now we’re putting the effort into our garden and putting more types of food out we are sometimes host to large groups of them, especially when they have babies.
Watching them is fascinating. They are very messy eaters compared to other birds and their babies are very demanding.
Check out the adult’s feathers, aren’t they pretty? 🙂 They look better in real life of course.
These three babies are posers!
Through it all Mr B is unfazed.
Sometimes baby Starlings bother their parents or babysitters too much and need a good telling off!
See here how the adult (left) stands up taller over the baby (right) and eventually the baby cowers down lower. (Click image for bigger version)
Do you get Starlings in your garden?
Now everyone is sick of Starlings, here’s a cute Coal Tit.
And a flower! Just because that’s what I was taking pictures of in May. That’s all for May now and I get to see what I was doing in June.
